Perfect Wedding Locations: Brooklyn Botanic Garden

If the hotel ballroom or the country club are not exactly your cup of tea, consider a botanic garden as your wedding venue.  Brooklyn Botanic Garden, to be more precise. Main reason?  Nature will never go out of style.

This spot is one of the best kept secrets of the world’s most fascinating metropolis. Close your eyes and imagine a heaven of blooms, trees and green lawns.  Couples who love lush nature will not have to think too much about it. The ceremony can take place in the garden, away from visitors. Cocktail hour will follow on the Lily Pool Terrace among fountains and reflecting pools with floating water-lilies, while dinner and dancing are bound to happen inside the majestic Palm House, the pièce de résistance of the Botanic Garden.

The reception held in this gorgeous glass-walled space is the highlight of every wedding celebrated in this corner of paradise. The Palm House is proudly catered by Patina Restaurant Group, which also manages the restaurants of the iconic Grand Central Terminal and Lincoln Centre.

The Garden works both for an afternoon wedding ceremony and a dance party underneath the moonlight. The glass Palm House is an iconic building that will instantly appeal to couples looking for breathtaking elegance. The ambiance gets dreamy after sunset when the glass house starts to sparkle with light, music and laughter, and champagne glasses start clinking.

You will feel like you have escaped the city for the day, and the hustle and bustle of NYC will seem a distant thought. Your affair will look like a chapter from a storybook thanks to every romantic detail, from flowers to architecture.

I always try to make the best of the gorgeous natural light coming through the glass dome house. Too bad my lens cannot capture the intoxicating scent of flowers and the smell of fresh greenery floating in the air.

Weddings at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden are truly wonderful.
