A Waterfront Indian Wedding at The Hyatt & Westin (Jersey City)

When I first met Avni + Pratik, I knew that this was going to be a spectacular 2-day celebration. With 5 hours of Garba dancing the first night, and then an 18 hour wedding celebration the next day, I knew there would be a lot of photos taken :) On their wedding day, I started shooting at 6AM, which is a new record for my earliest wedding start time.

Avni + Pratik started the festivity the evening before their wedding day. We met with them for the Garba + Raas at the Sheraton Meadowlands Plaza. It was a night filled with performances and non-stop traditional Gujarati dancing. The next morning started with drums and dancing for the Baarat and ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City. It was a beautiful setting with an amazing NYC skyline view. One of the coolest surprises during their ceremony was a plane flying across the sky with their banner. The day got emotional during the Vidai, as Avni had to say goodbye to her family before entering Pratik's. It was a very special moment to witness her family's love. They ended their celebration with a glamorous reception at the Westin Jersey City. During the toasts, it was cool how the kids were offered cookies + milk in place of the champagne toasts. And one of the biggest hit that night was the Waffles + Dinges station with a never ending line for more!
