Bari + Alex
Bluestone Country Club Wedding
Bari and Alex. They met when they were kids and only reconnected two years ago in New Jersey while vacationing with their families. They decided to celebrate at the Country House at Bluestone, a handsome stone manor set amidst manicured lawns and lush vegetation where their beautiful wedding took place.
I felt so grateful to be capturing Bari and Alex's special day and here I am sharing the couple’s joie de vivre with all of you. I always tend to develop a personal connection with the brides and grooms I photograph, and it was no different with Bari and Alex. With every shot I took of them I grew to know them a bit better which made me want to tell the story of their big day in the most love-filled and cohesive way possible – that is, through my photographs. Their love story and good vibes filled me with energy and offered me just the spark of inspiration I needed.
Besides the heartwarming tears of Alex's father and the stunning rose-adorned chuppah, one of the highlights of the ceremony was the fully blossomed cherry tree standing tall on the background - it created one of the most spectacular ceremony set-ups I have ever photographed. Note to couples planning a spring wedding: if you are looking for a jaw-dropping wedding ceremony décor, you might want to consider a venue with seasonal blooms such as cherry blossoms – they will add tons of charm to your photos and portraits!).
In terms of fashion, the elegant bride, Bari, wore a minimalist wedding dress letting her man add the quirky fashion touch to the event (Alex went sockless in style matching a pair of smart loafers with his tailored tux).
The Country House at Bluestone lived up to the couple’s expectations. With its sumptuous Grand Ballroom that features a sparkling chandelier centrepiece and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the perfectly groomed golf course, a spacious dance floor, delicious food and unique outdoor fire pit, this was a dream venue for Bari and Alex.
Whether it’s the couple’s excitement about starting a new family, the melancholy of parents letting go of their “babies”, or the genuine happiness of the bride and groom’s best friends, weddings are a time when everyone sends out a lot of positive energy. And this is just what I tried to capture in Bari and Alex’s wedding photos.
I feel so lucky to have been the one to photograph this beautiful wedding day, for a really special couple. Bari and Alex, thank you for trusting me to document it all!
