Jenny + David

New York, Central Park

Jenny and David celebrated their wedding with an intimate ceremony in Central Park and a tasty lunch at the iconic Tavern on the Green.

The weather forecast for Jenny & David's big day was not encouraging: they were to expect a storm and torrential downpour. As their wedding day approached, they followed closely the weather reports warning of an impending cold 40 degree rainy wedding day in the middle of 2 weeks of beautiful sunny, crisp Fall weather. The temperatures kept plummeting with more and more severe warnings of a storm and torrential downpour. As the day approached, and it seemed that the weather forecasters had actually gotten it correct this time around.  This prediction made them frantically look for an indoor ceremony location, but since nothing appealed to them, they finally realized that getting married in Central Park had always been their dream.

Ten red umbrellas later (matching Jenny’s red shoes and the rose in her hair), Jenny and David were ready to tie the knot in the idyllic park, defying the cold rain. Probably the most precious wedding gift they received was the storm clearing out the park and making it look like their own private playground. This romantic moment was followed by a wonderful lunch at the landmark Central Park restaurant Tavern on the Green, famous for its rustic menu and for being prominently featured in films over the years.

That day, we also stopped for photos by Lincoln Center, one of their favorite New York spots.  We used the weather as an element in the photos, and everything was perfect at the end of the day. You know what they say: “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.”  Always expect the unexpected, and life will give you surprises you never even dreamed of.  I couldn’t have imagined a better day for Jenny & David and am so honored to witness such love and laughter.
