Emily + Jon

Tribeca Rooftop, New York

If you think there is nothing romantic about sake bombing, you might want to eat your words when you hear Emily and Jon's story. Yes, the start of their romance involved sake and beer in a restaurant in Atlanta, which eventually lead to the beautiful wedding I had the honor to photograph.

They first met at the end of their freshman year on a bus (they sat next to each other but had different dates at the time). However, their brief encounter ended with that bus ride. Sake did the trick only one year later.

Being together since their sophomore year of college helped them discover each other’s qualities and fall in love more and more each day. Emily hearts Jon’s humor, his relaxed and positive attitude, his musicality, his curiosity for learning, exploring and traveling, and his amazing cooking skills. She confesses he made her a better, much more adventurous person than she was before. Jon finds it a tad more difficult to pick what he loves most about his better half. But the list is equally impressive, he says.

These guys had a real blast on their wedding day! The location they picked was the awesome Tribeca Rooftop, and the reception put to the test every guest’s dancing skills (including Jon’s 98-year-old grandmother who did the hora with much aplomb). Jon and Emily were touched by their families’ special musical performances, Emily's dad's hilarious speech, the spectacular views enjoyed from the rooftop that afternoon, and partying until 3 am with their family and friends.

Emily & Jon, I was honored to be a part of such a special celebration and thank you and your families for making us feel like one of the fold :)
