A Same Sex Wedding at Harvard Club New York

“Love is our true destiny. We do not find the meaning of life by ourselves alone, we find it with another”.

This quote could make the perfect slogan for Jens and Amol’s wedding, which they celebrated at the beautiful Harvard Club, one of New York’s most exclusive private club. It was a chic, yet fun event with elegant people, a napkin dance, and a groom with glitzy shoes.

Jens and Amol had friends in common, but did not know each other until Amol approached Jens at a networking event. Although the interaction was brief, Jens kept thinking about Amol, so he soon reached out to catch up over drinks. But Amol didn't realize it was a date until 1 hour into it!

The grooms wanted a wedding where people would dress up and have a fun time. I would say they totally achieved their goal as all their guests looked polished, and the smiles and dancing all night long confirmed that everyone had a blast.

The highlight of their wedding was Jens' piano performance that Amol will fondly remember for the rest of his life.  Nobody knew the piano solo was coming, and the superb rendition of “All of Me” caught Amol completely by surprise, while his better half’s sparkly custom shoes captivated the crowd. 

Since Jens’s family is from Belgium, Le Connemara, the fun Belgian wedding tradition was de rigueur. Happening right after cutting the cake, it got everyone dancing while twirling napkins in the air.

Looking back on their big day, both Amol and Jens think it was perfect.  And I would have to agree.  Jens & Amol:  Thank you for this wonderful glimpse into your lives. Anytime real love manifests itself in two people, I'm honored to be the one chosen to show the world what that looks like.
