Stage 6 Steiner Studios Wedding
Kate, a born and bred New Yorker, and Kevin, a Kansas City guy, decided to tie the knot in New York, and their wedding at Stage 6 was a great opportunity for Kevin's family to visit New York for the first time. They chose a beautiful church for their afternoon ceremony – the Church of St. Francis Xavier off Union Square – which provided a truly lavish and majestic setting.
Since Kevin is a huge fan of the Notre Dame football team, their wedding was carefully planned on a day when his idols were not playing. And their wedding was the last big thing the two did in NYC before moving to Kansas City, so it was definitely meant to be a New York moment they would remember for life.
For their portraits, we had a unique chance to sneak into City Hall. It was fun exploring all the different rooms and trying to squeeze in as many photos in the "cool" parts of the building without getting kicked out.
As if I wasn’t already overwhelmed with great locations that day, the reception was held at Stage 6 at Steiner Studios in the Brooklyn Navy Yards. This is not your standard reception hall – it is really modern, super-spacious, and has stunning views of the NYC skyline at sunset and after dark.
Even if the day started with some nerves in the morning (nothing unusual for a wedding day, right?), once Kevin and Kate set their eyes on each other they felt relaxed and looked super-happy.
As always, you can see a set of my favorite photos above. Enjoy!
