Sleepy Hollow Country Club Wedding

As a wedding photographer, I only get to capture beauty through my lens. Whether it’s tears of joy, people dancing, eating cake, or delivering emotional speeches, my camera has taken thousands of shots of pure beauty. And on Katie and Justin’s big day I felt blessed once again.

Since Katie and Justin met while studying abroad in Rome, Italy, it seemed only fitting for him to propose at an Italian restaurant in the Bronx (there goes a melancholic guy with great culinary taste!), and the two decided to celebrate the day in style at the glamorous Sleepy Hollow Country Club in Scarborough, New York.  The venue stood up to everyone’s expectations, featuring velvety lawns, extensive gardens with majestic trees, and a manor of architectural beauty that matched the elegance of Katie and Justin's wedding.

Katie got ready in the old traditional way in a room surrounded by her pretty bridesmaids and family, while Justin got ready in a separate room with his buddies, drinking, playing iPhone games (ok, maybe this was not so traditional) and laughing. At the end, they both looked pretty stunning. As in bridal-magazine-cover stunning.
The outdoor ceremony was fabulous, with their parents glowing in the front row, and the Katie literally stealing the spotlight in her show-stopping, A-line layered Hayley Paige dress. In fact, she was so nervous about getting her gown dirty outside, that we took all the photos indoors (you can’t mess with a lady in a sumptuous bridal dress, can you?)

After their first dance, the couple was just thankful neither of them face-planted and the reception turned into a true dance extravaganza, as guests kept shaking their hips like there was no tomorrow to the great music of the Hank Lane band.
