Sasha + Jordan
A Beautiful Maritime Parc Wedding
From the bride:
"My dream wedding was literally everything I could have dreamed for and more: perfect venue, perfect flowers and perfect husband but what really put the icing on the cake were the photos and the entire photography experience with STAK Photography.
My husband Jordan and I worked with Steven on our engagement photos as well as our wedding photos and he somehow managed to capture the most amazing moments, even the little ones. The quirky smiles, the laughs, and tears ...each photo was beautifully captured and looking through them feels like I'm reliving my wedding day.
Steven is super professional, very warm and really passionate about his work. My husband and I joke that he was like spider man on our wedding day, literally on the floor, behind corners, in matrix like positions making sure to get the best shot! I dont have enough words to say about Steven but he is a part of our life forever. He memorialized the most important day of my life and from the bottom of my heart I'm so grateful we had the opportunity to work with him."
From me:
There is never a dull moment with Sasha and Jordan. It was a real pleasure to photograph them on their wedding day at the beautiful and modern Maritime Parc.
The two met in Philadelphia in the most unexpected of places – in front of the Temple University bus stop. He asked to borrow her text books. Sasha soon moved to NYC and said yes to spending the rest of her life with Jordan. Yes, love stories like this still do exist.
Sasha, a romantic Jamaican originally from Washington DC, loves to speak about their relationship, a mix of love and friendship that feels organic, just like sinking into a warm blanket that just came out of the dryer. With Jordan she feels secure and confident, even if she admits that real love is built the old fashion way - through hard work. She jokes about Jordan saying he looks like a Jewish kid from Brooklyn (although he is half Polish- half Puerto Rican) and confesses he is a disco queen at heart but will only dance in private (off the record, he can twerk pretty well, too). She is also crazy about dancing (she used to be a ballet dancer), loves Nat King Cole, and adores their pup Isis (even if she needs the occasional Benadryl as she is really allergic to dogs!).
From their getting ready moments, to the fun yet emotional ceremony, to the wild and super-entertaining reception, this day was a total success. In the morning, there was a genuine excitement generated by Sasha among her bridesmaids when she showed up in her gorgeous gown (made by her mom). All while her groom, Jordan, was getting his party mood on.
Maritime Parc was, as usual, a delight and I loved photographing Sasha and Jordan with the Manhattan skyline on the background at sunset.
When weddings are filled with a full day of laughter, it really doesn’t get much better. But when it all happens with a couple like Sasha and Jordan, who feel like old friends, I can’t help but feel like I really hit the jackpot. Sasha, Jordan thank you for allowing me to tell your story and document your wedding day.
