Nora + Ari
The Roundhouse at Beacon Falls Wedding
With both of them being creatives (Nora is an art therapist/mental health counsellor and Ari a composer and sound designer), Nora and Ari were an honor for me to photograph. Even if Ari loves peanut butter and Nora goes mad for apples, his iPod is a collection of classical music and metal while she loves listening to Sarah Bareilles and Jack Johnson, they both have a penchant for Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails.
It is always an honor photographing relaxed, fun people, and after being part of Nora and Ari’s wedding, I have learned that cool people have cool parents. And that’s a fact. The funny and happy families injected a serious dose of enthusiasm into their kids’ big day.
The venue chosen by Nora and Ari, which also happens to be one of my favorites, was the Roundhouse at Beacon Falls, boasting outstanding views of both Beacon Falls and Mount Beacon besides a naturally landscaped garden and a beautiful 1800s restored building. Before the wedding, we went out to the train tracks across from the waterfall and the setting could not have been more romantic.
Even if an unexpected rainstorm forced everyone to move the ceremony indoors, the party was equally awesome and the crowd kept the fun going. The Hank Lane band played Rock and Roll tunes and electric guitar pieces, and every moment of the night was filled with rocking music and happy faces.
Nora and Ari, I know that I have made two lifelong friends in you. I cannot thank you and your families enough for making us a part of your lives. You are two incredibly beautiful people, inside and out, and I feel privileged to have been the one to capture your wedding day.
