The Aberdeen Marina Club Wedding

After 15 years of marriage in Hong Kong, Olivia and Jack decided they had the perfect reason to celebrate their true love in style, so they got all glamorous and threw a fab wedding anniversary party for their nearest and dearest at the elegant Aberdeen Marina Club. And, since Hong Kong is one of my favorite cities in the world, you can guess how excited I was to be part of this special event.

They started as friends during their freshmen year in UC Berkeley and luckily, two years later, their friendship turned into a beautiful romance.  Olivia is Jack’s first and only love and she proudly recalls he became smitten with her during sophomore year. She was his only focus until she finally decided to become his girlfriend the summer they became college seniors. Now, how many ladies can brag about that?

Only three people knew they got married in December 1999, and they were not the couple’s parents but the best man and the two bridesmaids.  However, they had a proper church ceremony and a banquet two years later in San Francisco, letting their guests believe they were actually getting married on that day.

The anniversary party, hosted by Douglas whom I had shot together with his gorgeous bride the week before in Phuket, gathered lots of beautiful people. The guests enjoyed the performances of Olivia and Jack singing romantic songs, played beer pong, and had fun watching Jack struggle to open a giant champagne bottle.
