Ann + Sophie
Pine Hollow Country Club Wedding
Whenever true love manifests itself in two people, I feel privileged to show the world what that looks like through my photographs. However, there is something about shooting same-sex weddings that makes me feel extra honored and lucky.
One of my favorite weddings ever was Ann and Sophie’s. It took place at the Pine Hollow Country Club and it was filled with wow moments (from the brides’ first look to their first dance to the cake cutting).
The two lovely ladies grew up in neighboring towns just minutes from each other, but were only meant to meet in Baltimore while attending the same graduate program. You know what they say: “when it’s time for souls to meet, there is nothing on earth that can prevent it”.
Ann and Sophie know perfectly well that not every same-sex couple has supportive families and friends around, and they felt really blessed to have all their loved ones close on their big day to celebrate their love. They were beyond excited yet looked incredibly relaxed, and you could easily tell that everyone was genuinely happy for their union.
Getting married was undeniably an emotional affair for this couple. Watching them walk hand in hand down the aisle against the soft sunset light will remain one of my favorite visuals. Looking ethereal in their long wedding gowns Ann and Sophie were all smiles. It was as if the universe had stopped for a moment and it was just them and my camera.
With its outstanding Vanderbilt mansion, flawlessly manicured fairways and refined décor, Pine Hollow Country Club, one of the most charming wedding venues on Long Island, provided a world class country club experience for the wedding guests. The weather was absolutely perfect, and we could not have wished for a better fall day to shoot portraits on that immaculate property. The love in the air was almost palpable throughout the event and the two gorgeous brides were simply glowing.
Brimming with love, smiles and life, this heartwarming wedding slideshow will captivate you for sure. I am happy I got to be part of Ann and Sophie’s biggest adventure yet and I hope their journey through life as a married couple is only smooth sailing. Ann and Sophie, thank you for choosing me!
